Description

Praline Crunch Crispix Pecan is a sweet and salty snack mix made with crispy Crispix cereal, roasted pecans, and a rich brown sugar caramel coating. This addictive treat is perfect for any occasion, from casual snacking to holiday parties and gifts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups Crispix cereal
  • 2 cups pecan halves (salted)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250ºF.
  2. In a large bowl, combine Crispix cereal and pecans.
  3. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and baking soda. The mixture will bubble up.
  5. Pour the syrup over the cereal and pecans, tossing to coat evenly.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13-inch pan, spreading it out evenly.
  7. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes to ensure even coating.
  8. After baking, remove the pan from the oven and spread the praline crunch onto parchment or wax paper to cool.
  9. Once cool, break the mixture into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use a large saucepan to avoid spills when the syrup bubbles up.
  • Stir the mixture every 20 minutes during baking to prevent burning.
  • Cool completely before breaking into pieces to ensure a crispy texture.
  • This treat can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week.
  • You can substitute Chex cereal for Crispix if preferred.
