Description

Pretzel Shamrocks are a fun and festive no-bake St. Patrick’s Day treat made with mini pretzels, green candy melts, and colorful sprinkles. These sweet and salty shamrock-shaped pretzel pops are easy to assemble, kid-friendly, and perfect for parties, gifting, or holiday dessert tables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 36 mini pretzel twists (about 3 cups): form the shamrock leaves and provide a crunchy salty base
  • 12 oz (340 g) green candy melts: coat and bind the pretzels together
  • 6 lollipop sticks (4-inch): create the shamrock stems
  • 2 tbsp green or St. Patrick’s Day sprinkles: add festive decoration and texture

Instructions

  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Arrange three mini pretzels into a shamrock shape by placing one pretzel upright and two sideways with the bottoms touching.
  3. Slide a lollipop stick between the bottom two pretzels to form the stem. Repeat to create 6 shamrock shapes evenly spaced on the baking sheet.
  4. Place the green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on medium power for 30–45 seconds. Stir, then continue heating in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Dip one pretzel at a time into the melted candy coating, using a fork to turn and fully coat it. Lift and gently tap the fork on the side of the bowl to remove excess coating.
  6. Return the coated pretzel to its position on the parchment paper. Repeat with the remaining two pretzels in the shamrock.
  7. Spoon or drizzle additional melted candy over the center where the pretzels meet and over the top of the lollipop stick to secure everything together.
  8. Immediately sprinkle with decorative sprinkles before the coating sets.
  9. Repeat the dipping and decorating process for the remaining shamrocks.
  10. Refrigerate for 15 minutes or allow to set at room temperature for 30 minutes until fully hardened. Serve or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • If you do not have lollipop sticks, substitute with 6 pretzel sticks as edible stems.
  • Do not overheat the candy melts, as this can cause thick or clumpy coating.
  • For a smoother consistency, stir in 1 tsp vegetable shortening if needed.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks or refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight or high heat to prevent melting.
