Description

Puff Pastry Christmas Tree Pizza Bites are festive, flaky mini pizzas made with buttery puff pastry, zesty tomato sauce, and melty mozzarella. Shaped like Christmas trees, they make a delightful holiday appetizer that’s quick, fun, and perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Puff Pastry rectangular roll: flaky, buttery base
  • 1/2 cup Tomato Passata: base for the pizza sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt: enhances flavor
  • 1/2 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil: enriches sauce and adds aroma
  • 1/8 teaspoon Dried Oregano (optional): adds herby depth to the sauce
  • 1 Mozzarella Ball (about 4 oz): melty, cheesy topping
  • Optional Mini Pepperoni Slices: for savory, festive topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the cold puff pastry sheet on the lined baking sheet and use a Christmas tree cookie cutter to cut out tree shapes.
  3. Remove the excess pastry dough and space out the trees slightly on the sheet.
  4. Prepare the pizza sauce by mixing the tomato passata, olive oil, salt, and oregano in a small bowl.
  5. Spread a small spoonful of sauce over each tree-shaped pastry.
  6. Shred the mozzarella ball and sprinkle evenly over the trees. Add mini pepperoni slices if using.
  7. Bake on the lower rack of the oven for about 15 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve warm, optionally garnished with basil or red pepper flakes for extra color and flavor.

Notes

  • Thaw puff pastry in the fridge overnight for best results.
  • If using fresh mozzarella, pat dry to prevent sogginess.
  • Can be assembled ahead and baked just before serving.
  • Freeze assembled bites before baking and bake from frozen with added cook time.
  • Do not overload with toppings to allow puff pastry to bake evenly.
