Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz): provides the sweet and soft base
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter: adds richness and chewiness
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract: enhances flavor
- 2 large eggs: binds ingredients and adds moisture
- 2 cups chocolate chips: for gooey, melty chocolate flavor
- 1 small box Reese’s Pieces (about 4 oz): adds crunch, peanut butter flavor, and color
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix until a thick batter forms.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Press the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan using a spatula or your hands.
- Sprinkle the Reese’s Pieces evenly over the top and press them gently into the surface.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
- Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the pan.
- Once cooled, slice into squares or rectangles and serve.
Notes
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the bars soft and chewy.
- Use parchment paper for easy removal and cleaner slicing.
- Check at the 20-minute mark to avoid overbaking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
