Description
Reindeer Oreo Balls are a fun, no-bake holiday treat made with Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and chocolate, decorated with pretzel antlers and candy to resemble festive reindeer. Perfect for Christmas parties, edible gifts, or family activities.
Ingredients
Scale
- 45 Oreo cookies (18.12 oz Family Size package): base for the truffle filling
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened): binds the Oreo crumbs and adds creaminess
- 15 oz dark chocolate melting wafers: for coating the Oreo balls
- 2 cups pretzel twists (broken in half): used for reindeer antlers
- Red Hots (approx. 45 pieces): used for reindeer noses
- Black sugar pearls (approx. 90 pieces): used for eyes
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or blender.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Add the crushed Oreo crumbs to the cream cheese and mix until well combined.
- Use a 1.5-inch cookie scoop to portion the mixture, then roll into smooth balls using your hands.
- Place the balls onto the prepared baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm.
- Melt the dark chocolate wafers in a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth.
- Using a fork, dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate and let the excess drip off.
- Place dipped balls back on the baking sheet. While the chocolate is still soft, insert two pretzel halves for antlers.
- Add one Red Hot for the nose and two sugar pearls for the eyes. Repeat for all balls.
- Let the decorated Oreo balls sit at room temperature for 15 minutes or refrigerate until fully set.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to serve.
Notes
- Chill the Oreo mixture before rolling to make handling easier.
- Use melting wafers for a smooth, shiny chocolate finish.
- Work in batches to prevent the mixture from softening during dipping.
- Decorate quickly before the chocolate hardens.
- Use flavored Oreos for variations (e.g., mint, peanut butter).
