Description

This rich and flavorful seafood garlic butter dipping sauce is the perfect complement to shrimp, crab, lobster, or any seafood feast. Infused with garlic, Old Bay seasoning, and a hint of spice, this easy-to-make sauce enhances every bite with bold and buttery goodness. Ideal for seafood boils, grilled fish, or drizzling over vegetables, it’s a must-have for any seafood lover.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 sticks unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tbsp lemon pepper
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 1/2 tbsp paprika
  • 1/2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 1 1/2 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt the Butter: In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter, stirring occasionally to ensure it does not brown too quickly.
  2. Sauté the Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and diced onion to the melted butter. Stir frequently and cook for about 2–3 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant and the onion softens.
  3. Incorporate the Seasonings: Sprinkle in the Old Bay seasoning, lemon pepper, oregano, paprika, chili powder, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to evenly distribute the spices throughout the sauce, ensuring a well-balanced flavor.
  4. Enhance the Flavor: Crumble the chicken bouillon cube directly into the sauce and stir until fully dissolved. Add the brown sugar and continue stirring until completely incorporated, helping to balance the spice with a touch of sweetness.
  5. Simmer and Serve: Allow the sauce to simmer on low heat for another 2–3 minutes, letting the flavors meld together. Remove from heat and serve warm as a dipping sauce for seafood or drizzle over a seafood boil for extra richness.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes to suit your taste.
  • For a citrusy twist, squeeze in fresh lemon juice before serving.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat gently over low heat, stirring frequently to maintain a smooth consistency.
  • This sauce can also be used as a flavorful topping for grilled meats or roasted vegetables.
