Ingredients
Scale
- 3 sticks unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup onion, finely diced
- 2 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
- 1 tbsp lemon pepper
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1/2 tbsp paprika
- 1/2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 chicken bouillon cube
- 1 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
Instructions
- Melt the Butter: In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter, stirring occasionally to ensure it does not brown too quickly.
- Sauté the Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and diced onion to the melted butter. Stir frequently and cook for about 2–3 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant and the onion softens.
- Incorporate the Seasonings: Sprinkle in the Old Bay seasoning, lemon pepper, oregano, paprika, chili powder, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to evenly distribute the spices throughout the sauce, ensuring a well-balanced flavor.
- Enhance the Flavor: Crumble the chicken bouillon cube directly into the sauce and stir until fully dissolved. Add the brown sugar and continue stirring until completely incorporated, helping to balance the spice with a touch of sweetness.
- Simmer and Serve: Allow the sauce to simmer on low heat for another 2–3 minutes, letting the flavors meld together. Remove from heat and serve warm as a dipping sauce for seafood or drizzle over a seafood boil for extra richness.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes to suit your taste.
- For a citrusy twist, squeeze in fresh lemon juice before serving.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat gently over low heat, stirring frequently to maintain a smooth consistency.
- This sauce can also be used as a flavorful topping for grilled meats or roasted vegetables.
