Description

This Slow Cooker Turkey Breast recipe is the perfect solution for juicy, flavorful turkey without the hassle. Made with a blend of pantry spices and slow-cooked to perfection, it’s ideal for holiday gatherings, meal prep, or weeknight dinners. Simple, moist, and with optional crispy skin, it’s a reliable go-to for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (5-7 lb) bone-in or boneless turkey breast: main protein, juicy and flavorful
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter: adds moisture and helps the seasoning stick
  • 1 tsp salt: enhances overall flavor
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper: adds a touch of spice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder: brings savory depth
  • 1 tsp onion powder: adds subtle sweetness and flavor
  • 1 tsp paprika: gives color and mild smokiness
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary: adds herbal aroma and flavor
  • 1 cup chicken or turkey broth: keeps turkey moist during cooking

Instructions

  1. Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels to help the oil and seasoning stick better.
  2. Rub olive oil or melted butter all over the turkey, including under the skin if possible.
  3. In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and thyme or rosemary.
  4. Rub the seasoning blend evenly over the entire turkey breast.
  5. Pour the broth into the bottom of the slow cooker.
  6. Place the seasoned turkey breast in the slow cooker, breast-side up.
  7. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Optional: Transfer turkey to a baking sheet and broil for 3–5 minutes to crisp the skin.
  9. Let the turkey rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure accurate doneness.
  • Don’t cook from frozen—always thaw the turkey breast first.
  • Reserve the broth for gravy or moistening leftovers.
  • Broil carefully to avoid burning the skin.
  • This recipe works with both bone-in and boneless turkey breasts.
