Description
A moist and tender Southern Peach Bread made with simple pantry ingredients and fresh or canned peaches. Perfect for breakfast, snack, or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup peaches, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and spray either three mini loaf pans or one large loaf pan with nonstick spray.
- In a medium bowl, combine the peaches, vegetable oil, sugar, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and well blended.
- Add the flour, baking soda, and salt into the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan(s), smoothing the tops.
- Bake mini loaves for 25–30 minutes, or a large loaf for 50–55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly in the pan before removing and slicing. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- You can use canned or frozen peaches—just drain and pat them dry.
- Greek yogurt or buttermilk can replace sour cream.
- To avoid overbrowning, cover the bread loosely with foil halfway through baking.
- Add cinnamon or streusel topping for extra flavor.
