Description

Spinach Puffs are a savory and cheesy appetizer made with creamy spinach filling, feta cheese, and crispy puff pastry. They’re easy to prepare, perfect for parties, and loved by all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp dried dill
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped and packed
  • 3/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 tsp bacon bits
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Spray 9 cups of a muffin pan with cooking spray.
  2. Microwave cream cheese in 10-second intervals until soft and melty but not hot.
  3. Add egg, olive oil, and dill to the cream cheese and stir until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, mix chopped spinach, feta cheese, and bacon bits.
  5. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the spinach mixture. Season with salt and pepper and combine well.
  6. Cut the puff pastry into 9 squares. Stretch each slightly and press into muffin pan cups.
  7. Fill each pastry cup evenly with the spinach mixture.
  8. Bring the four corners of each pastry square together over the filling and pinch to seal.
  9. Brush the tops with melted butter.
  10. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden and puffy. Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan.

Notes

  • Make sure to drain spinach well to avoid soggy puffs.
  • You can prepare the filling up to 2 days in advance.
  • Mini muffin versions can be made for bite-sized appetizers.
  • Use parchment paper for easier cleanup.
