Description

Sweet Chili Cauliflower Wings are crispy, flavorful bites with the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. These wings are a healthy, meat-free alternative to traditional chicken wings, made by air frying or baking cauliflower florets, then tossing them in a sweet chili sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets.
  2. In a bowl, whisk the eggs until combined. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, sesame seeds, ground ginger, garlic powder, and salt. Stir to combine.
  4. Dip each cauliflower floret into the egg, then coat it in the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Place the cauliflower in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes, without flipping halfway through.
  6. While the cauliflower is cooking, mix the chili garlic sauce, soy sauce, fresh ginger, and honey in a large bowl.
  7. Once the cauliflower is done, remove it from the air fryer and toss it in the sauce until well coated.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, then serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • If the sauce is too spicy, add more honey to balance the heat.
  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and ensure the soy sauce is gluten-free.
  • If you don’t have chili garlic sauce, substitute with Thai sweet chili sauce.
  • Lightly spray the cauliflower with cooking oil for a crispier texture when air frying.
  • Toss the cauliflower in the sauce just before serving to maintain its crispiness.
