Description

Texas Trash Dip is a hot, creamy, cheesy Tex-Mex dip made with refried beans, cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning. It’s oven-baked until bubbly and topped with melty cheese—perfect for parties, game day, or any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened: adds richness and creamy texture
  • 1 cup sour cream: enhances creaminess and adds a tangy flavor
  • 1 (16 oz) can refried beans: provides a hearty base and smooth texture
  • 1 (1 oz) packet taco seasoning mix: infuses bold Tex-Mex flavor
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese, divided: melted cheese for both filling and topping
  • 1 cup shredded Pepper Jack cheese: adds creaminess and mild heat
  • 1 (4 oz) can diced green chilies, drained: adds a touch of spice and acidity
  • Optional toppings: sliced green onions, diced tomatoes, chopped cilantro, jalapeño slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, refried beans, taco seasoning, 1 cup of Mexican blend cheese, and all of the Pepper Jack cheese.
  3. Stir in drained diced green chilies and mix until fully combined and smooth.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of Mexican blend cheese evenly on top.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until hot and bubbly, and the cheese on top is fully melted.
  7. Let cool slightly before garnishing with optional toppings like green onions, tomatoes, cilantro, or jalapeños.
  8. Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or veggie sticks.

Notes
