Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and dust with flour or line with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine milk, brown sugar, molasses, oil, applesauce, and eggs. Mix until well blended.
- Gradually stir the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Wrap tightly in plastic wrap for storage or freeze for later use.
