Description

This Turkey Apple and Cheddar Panini combines savory roasted turkey, sharp cheddar cheese, and fresh apples, all grilled to perfection. It’s a perfect fall sandwich with a balanced sweet and savory flavor, ideal for a quick lunch or light dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced
  • 3/4 cup spreadable butter, divided
  • 1 lb. oven-roasted turkey breast
  • 6 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 apple, cored and thinly sliced
  • Honey mustard (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat a griddle or panini press while you prepare your ingredients.
  2. Slice the French bread into even slices and spread one tablespoon of butter on one side of each slice.
  3. Place the bread on the panini press, butter side down.
  4. Optional: Spread honey mustard on each slice of bread.
  5. Layer the turkey, apple slices, and cheese on one slice of bread.
  6. Top with the second slice of bread, butter side up, and press the sandwich in the panini press for 3-5 minutes or until the cheese melts and the bread is golden brown.
  7. Remove the sandwich from the press, cut into halves, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Feel free to use any variety of apple, such as Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Fuji, for the sandwich.
  • If you prefer a stronger mustard flavor, add extra honey mustard or try Dijon mustard for a tangy alternative.
  • The sandwich can also be made with gluten-free bread if necessary.
