Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 1/4 cup thick caramel ice cream topping
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon shortening (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Spread pecan halves on a baking sheet and toast for 7–10 minutes, stirring halfway. Let them cool completely.
- In a bowl, mix toasted pecans with 1/4 cup caramel topping until evenly coated.
- Drop heaping tablespoons of the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill in the fridge for 1–2 hours until firm.
- In a heatproof bowl, microwave chocolate chips and optional shortening in 15–20 second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth.
- Drizzle or spoon the melted chocolate over each caramel-pecan cluster. Let set at room temperature or refrigerate for quicker results.
- Once the chocolate is set, store the candies in an airtight container in the fridge or serve immediately.
Notes
- Use thick caramel sauce to prevent runny clusters.
- High-quality chocolate improves flavor and texture.
- Toasting pecans enhances their nutty flavor.
- Optional shortening makes chocolate smoother and easier to drizzle.
- Store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.
