Description
These Vegan Strawberry Cream Danishes are heart-shaped pastries made with flaky puff pastry, filled with a luscious dairy-free cream cheese mixture and topped with fresh strawberries. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, brunches, or anytime you want a fruity, plant-based treat that’s both beautiful and delicious.

- 1–2 sheets of puff pastry (vegan & gluten-free recommended, such as Jus-Rol)
- 130g dairy-free cream cheese (preferably full-fat)
- 15g gluten-free or plain flour
- 15g caster sugar (plus extra for sprinkling)
- 4 tablespoons dairy-free milk (for brushing)
- Fresh strawberries (sliced thinly)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan) and line two baking trays with greaseproof paper.
- Unroll the puff pastry sheet and gently flatten any wrinkles with a rolling pin.
- Using a large heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out heart shapes from the pastry and place them on the lined trays.
- With a smaller heart cutter, press lightly into the center of each large heart to create an indented shape for the filling, without cutting through.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the dairy-free cream cheese, flour, and caster sugar until smooth and thick.
- Transfer the filling to a piping bag or spoon it into the indented areas of each heart.
- Top each with a few slices of fresh strawberries.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with dairy-free milk and sprinkle with a little caster sugar for browning.
- Bake in the middle of the oven for 10–15 minutes, or until golden and flaky.
- Allow to cool slightly, dust with icing sugar if desired, and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Do not overfill the danishes to avoid leakage during baking.
- Keep cream cheese chilled until use for a firmer texture.
- You can glaze with apricot jam post-baking for extra shine.
- These pastries are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored for up to 2 days.
