Description

This easy 4th of July Fruit Salad combines fresh strawberries, blueberries, and bananas tossed in a sweet honey lime dressing. Ready in minutes, this colorful patriotic fruit salad is perfect for summer cookouts, barbecues, Memorial Day gatherings, and Independence Day celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz strawberries, washed and halved
  • 1 pint fresh blueberries, rinsed
  • 3 medium bananas, sliced into thick chunks
  • 1/8 cup honey
  • 1 medium lime, juiced (about 2 tablespoons lime juice)

Instructions

  1. Wash the strawberries and blueberries thoroughly and pat dry.
  2. Hull and halve the strawberries, then slice the bananas into thick chunks.
  3. Place the strawberries, blueberries, and bananas in a large mixing bowl.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together 1/8 cup honey and the juice of 1 lime until well combined.
  5. Drizzle the honey lime dressing over the fruit.
  6. Gently toss until all fruit is lightly coated with the dressing.
  7. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Add bananas just before serving to prevent browning.
  • Toss banana slices with a little lemon juice if preparing ahead.
  • Fresh fruit is recommended for the best texture and flavor.
  • Substitute lemon juice for lime juice if desired.
  • Add raspberries, watermelon, cherries, or honeydew melon for variation.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
