Description

These Air Fryer Banana Chips are crispy, naturally sweet, and lightly seasoned with cinnamon for a healthy homemade snack. Made with firm bananas and a small amount of oil, they are air-fried at a low temperature to achieve the perfect crunchy texture without deep frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 green or yellow bananas, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil or olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Peel the bananas and slice them into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
  3. In a small bowl, mix 2 teaspoons avocado oil and 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon until combined.
  4. Place the banana slices in a large bowl and pour the cinnamon oil mixture over them.
  5. Gently toss until all banana slices are evenly coated.
  6. Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary.
  7. Air fry at 300°F (150°C) for 25–28 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through cooking.
  8. Remove the banana chips from the air fryer and allow them to cool for 5–10 minutes to crisp up fully.
  9. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container after cooling completely.

Notes

  • Use firm green or yellow bananas for the best texture.
  • Do not use overripe bananas, as they can become mushy.
  • Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the slices and the air fryer model.
  • Thinner slices will cook faster and become crispier.
  • Allow the chips to cool completely before storing to maintain crunch.
  • For a savory version, omit the cinnamon and add a pinch of sea salt.
  • For extra sweetness, add 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar to the cinnamon mixture.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
