Description
American Flag Fruit Pizza is a festive patriotic dessert made with a soft sugar cookie crust, fluffy cream cheese frosting, and fresh strawberries and blueberries arranged like the American flag. This easy summer dessert is perfect for Fourth of July parties, Memorial Day cookouts, and Labor Day celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 roll (16.5 ounces) refrigerated sugar cookie dough
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 tub (8 ounces) whipped topping
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 sheet parchment paper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Slice the sugar cookie dough and arrange it evenly in the prepared pan.
- Place parchment paper over the dough and gently press it into an even layer covering the entire bottom of the pan.
- Poke holes across the dough with a fork to prevent bubbling during baking.
- Bake for 14 to 16 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown. Allow the crust to cool completely.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined and fluffy.
- Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled sugar cookie crust.
- Arrange the blueberries in the upper-left corner to create the stars section of the American flag.
- Place sliced strawberries in horizontal rows to form the red stripes of the flag.
- Pipe extra frosting between strawberry rows if desired to create white stripes.
- Refrigerate the fruit pizza for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Make sure the cookie crust is fully cooled before adding the frosting.
- Dry the berries thoroughly to prevent excess moisture on the frosting.
- Room-temperature cream cheese creates the smoothest frosting texture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- You can substitute raspberries or blackberries for additional patriotic colors.
