Description

These Baked Ranch Seasoning Chicken Thighs are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with savory ranch flavor. Using a simple two-stage baking method with garlic, olive oil, and ranch seasoning, this easy oven-baked chicken recipe is perfect for busy weeknight dinners, meal prep, or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt (optional, depending on ranch seasoning)
  • Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and place a wire rack on top if available.
  2. Pat the chicken thighs completely dry with paper towels to help the skin become crispy.
  3. Arrange the chicken skin-side up on the prepared baking sheet and season lightly with black pepper and salt if needed.
  4. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes to begin rendering the fat.
  5. Meanwhile, combine the ranch seasoning, olive oil, minced garlic, and lemon juice in a small bowl until smooth.
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and brush the ranch mixture evenly over the skin of each thigh.
  7. Return the chicken to the oven and continue baking for 15–20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (74°C).
  8. Broil for 2–5 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  9. Allow the chicken to rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Pat the chicken completely dry before baking for the crispiest skin.
  • Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure accurate doneness.
  • Broil only during the final few minutes and monitor closely.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispy skin.
  • Homemade ranch seasoning may be substituted for store-bought.
  • Boneless chicken thighs can be used but will require less cooking time.
