Ingredients
Scale
- 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons dry ranch seasoning mix
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt (optional, depending on ranch seasoning)
- Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and place a wire rack on top if available.
- Pat the chicken thighs completely dry with paper towels to help the skin become crispy.
- Arrange the chicken skin-side up on the prepared baking sheet and season lightly with black pepper and salt if needed.
- Bake uncovered for 25 minutes to begin rendering the fat.
- Meanwhile, combine the ranch seasoning, olive oil, minced garlic, and lemon juice in a small bowl until smooth.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and brush the ranch mixture evenly over the skin of each thigh.
- Return the chicken to the oven and continue baking for 15–20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (74°C).
- Broil for 2–5 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Allow the chicken to rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- Pat the chicken completely dry before baking for the crispiest skin.
- Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure accurate doneness.
- Broil only during the final few minutes and monitor closely.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Reheat in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispy skin.
- Homemade ranch seasoning may be substituted for store-bought.
- Boneless chicken thighs can be used but will require less cooking time.
