Description

Bang Bang Chicken Skewers are juicy, tender chicken skewers coated in a creamy sweet-and-spicy bang bang sauce. Made with simple ingredients and cooked quickly in the air fryer, this easy recipe is perfect for weeknight dinners, appetizers, meal prep, or party snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/4 cups mayonnaise
  • 2/3 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 16 wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken cubes with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Toss until the chicken is evenly coated.
  2. Thread 4 to 5 chicken cubes onto each soaked wooden skewer, leaving a little space between the pieces for even cooking.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey until smooth and creamy.
  4. Reserve half of the bang bang sauce for serving and brush the remaining sauce over the chicken skewers.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F and arrange the skewers in a single layer in the basket.
  6. Cook the Bang Bang Chicken Skewers for 11 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  7. Transfer the skewers to a serving platter and drizzle with extra bang bang sauce before serving.

Notes

  • Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  • Use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts for extra juicy skewers.
  • Adjust the amount of Sriracha to make the sauce milder or spicier.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3 to 4 minutes for best texture.
