Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, gently mix blackberries, sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and flour until evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt for the topping.
- Add melted butter and vanilla extract, then mix until a soft dough forms.
- Flatten small portions of the dough and place them over the blackberry filling, leaving some gaps.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until the topping is golden and the filling is bubbling.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 15 minutes to allow the filling to thicken.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.

- If using frozen berries, add an extra tablespoon of flour to thicken the filling.
