Description
These Bloody Guts Cinnamon Rolls are the perfect Halloween breakfast treat. Using store-bought cinnamon rolls, they are transformed into spooky, blood-filled delicacies with the help of red gel food coloring. Fun, creepy, and quick to make, they are ideal for starting off your Halloween celebrations with a frightful twist.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (8-count) cans of store-bought cinnamon rolls
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Red gel food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Open the cinnamon roll packages and carefully unravel each roll.
- Coil the unraveled cinnamon rolls in a snake-like pattern on a 9×13-inch baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown. Do not follow the package instructions for baking time, as these rolls cook faster due to being unraveled.
- While the rolls bake, prepare the blood-red frosting by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and red gel food coloring to achieve a blood-like consistency.
- Once the cinnamon rolls are baked, drizzle the red frosting over them generously.
- Decorate with plastic eyeballs or spiders for an extra spooky touch, if desired.
Notes
- If you don’t have gel food coloring, you can use liquid food coloring but reduce the amount of milk to 1 tablespoon.
- Be careful not to overbake the cinnamon rolls; keep an eye on them since they cook quicker due to their unraveled form.
- If you prefer, you can prepare these the night before and bake them in the morning for a quick Halloween breakfast.
- For a different effect, try using green frosting to make Zombie Brains or Zombie Guts instead of the blood-red version.
