Description

These Bloody Guts Cinnamon Rolls are the perfect Halloween breakfast treat. Using store-bought cinnamon rolls, they are transformed into spooky, blood-filled delicacies with the help of red gel food coloring. Fun, creepy, and quick to make, they are ideal for starting off your Halloween celebrations with a frightful twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (8-count) cans of store-bought cinnamon rolls
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Red gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Open the cinnamon roll packages and carefully unravel each roll.
  3. Coil the unraveled cinnamon rolls in a snake-like pattern on a 9×13-inch baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown. Do not follow the package instructions for baking time, as these rolls cook faster due to being unraveled.
  5. While the rolls bake, prepare the blood-red frosting by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and red gel food coloring to achieve a blood-like consistency.
  6. Once the cinnamon rolls are baked, drizzle the red frosting over them generously.
  7. Decorate with plastic eyeballs or spiders for an extra spooky touch, if desired.

Notes

  • If you don’t have gel food coloring, you can use liquid food coloring but reduce the amount of milk to 1 tablespoon.
  • Be careful not to overbake the cinnamon rolls; keep an eye on them since they cook quicker due to their unraveled form.
  • If you prefer, you can prepare these the night before and bake them in the morning for a quick Halloween breakfast.
  • For a different effect, try using green frosting to make Zombie Brains or Zombie Guts instead of the blood-red version.
