Description

This Blueberry Peach Crumble is a warm, comforting dessert made with juicy blueberries and sweet peaches topped with a buttery oat crumble. Perfect for summer gatherings or an easy homemade treat, it delivers a delicious balance of fruity sweetness and crisp texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 2 1/2 cups peeled and sliced peaches (about 5-6 peaches)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 6 tablespoons cold butter, diced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine blueberries, sliced peaches, lemon juice, lemon zest, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, and flour. Gently toss until the fruit is evenly coated.
  3. Let the fruit mixture sit while preparing the crumble topping.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Add the cold diced butter and mix with your fingers or a pastry cutter until large crumbs form.
  6. Transfer the fruit mixture into a baking dish or cast iron skillet and spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the fruit.
  8. Place the dish on a baking sheet to catch any overflow.
  9. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use ripe, fresh fruit for the best flavor and natural sweetness.
  • Frozen fruit can be used without thawing, but add extra flour if needed.
  • Do not overmix the topping to keep it crumbly and crisp.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the oven to maintain the crunchy topping texture.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for best results.
