Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (for the large paw pad)
- 3/4 cup pink candy-coated chocolates (for bunny toes)
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat 1 cup softened butter with 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a soft cookie dough forms.
- Scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball, then place it on the prepared baking sheet.
- Gently flatten the dough ball slightly with your hand.
- Press one chocolate chip into the center of the cookie to form the large bunny paw pad.
- Add three pink candy-coated chocolates above the chocolate chip to create the bunny toe prints.
- Bake the cookies for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Optionally dust lightly with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Make sure the butter is softened but not melted to achieve the best cookie texture.
- If the dough feels sticky, chill it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes before shaping.
- Press candies gently into the dough so they remain visible after baking.
- Store Bunny Paw Print Cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
- The cookie dough can be frozen for up to 2 months for future baking.
