Description

Butterfinger Buttercream Frosting is a rich, creamy, and fluffy frosting blended with crushed Butterfinger candy bars for a perfect balance of sweet peanut butter flavor and crunchy texture. Ideal for cakes, cupcakes, and cookies, this easy frosting recipe comes together quickly and delivers bakery-style results at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups (360g) powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (75g) crushed Butterfinger candy bars

Instructions

  1. Place 1 cup softened unsalted butter in a large mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2–3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  2. Gradually add 3 cups powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low speed until fully incorporated.
  3. Slowly pour in 1/4 cup heavy cream and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, then increase speed to medium-high and beat for 2–3 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  4. Gently fold in 1/2 cup crushed Butterfinger candy bars using a spatula until evenly distributed.
  5. Use immediately to frost cakes, cupcakes, or cookies, or store as needed.

Notes

  • Ensure butter is softened to room temperature for a smooth and fluffy texture.
  • Sift powdered sugar to prevent lumps in the frosting.
  • Crush Butterfinger candy finely if piping to avoid clogging tips.
  • Add extra cream (1 tablespoon at a time) if frosting is too thick.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Bring to room temperature and rewhip before reuse.
