Description

These Caprese Skewers combine fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze for a refreshing and flavorful appetizer. Perfect for parties, gatherings, or a light snack, these skewers offer a fun and easy way to enjoy the classic Caprese salad in bite-sized form.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 red cherry tomatoes
  • 12 yellow cherry tomatoes
  • 24 bite-sized fresh mozzarella balls
  • 36 small basil leaves
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Thread the red cherry tomatoes onto the skewers, followed by a small basil leaf and a mozzarella ball. Repeat with the yellow tomatoes, basil leaves, and mozzarella balls.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to mix well.
  3. Drizzle the seasoned olive oil over the assembled skewers.
  4. Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the skewers, using a small plastic bag if necessary to control the flow of the glaze.
  5. Arrange the skewers on a platter and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Ensure the cheese, basil, and tomatoes are roughly the same size for uniformity and ease of assembly.
  • You can use any color of cherry tomatoes based on availability for visual contrast.
  • For a spicier version, add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes over the skewers before serving.
  • If preparing ahead of time, store the skewers in the fridge and drizzle with the olive oil and balsamic glaze just before serving.
