Description

Carrot Strawberries are festive chocolate-covered strawberries coated in bright orange candy melts to resemble mini carrots. This easy no-bake Easter treat is perfect for spring parties, dessert boards, and cupcake toppers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (454 g) fresh strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried
  • 8 oz (226 g) orange candy melting chips
  • 2 tbsp (20 g) orange sparkling sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the strawberries under cool water and pat completely dry with paper towels to remove all moisture.
  2. Gently fluff the green stems upward to resemble carrot tops and to create a handle for dipping.
  3. Place the strawberries in the freezer for 10–15 minutes to chill.
  4. Add the 8 oz (226 g) orange candy melting chips to a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir, then continue heating in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Line a baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper.
  6. Remove strawberries from the freezer. Using a spoon, spread a small amount of melted coating near the stem to ensure even coverage.
  7. Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip into the melted candy coating or spoon the coating over the berry, leaving the green top exposed.
  8. Immediately sprinkle with 2 tbsp (20 g) orange sparkling sugar if using.
  9. Place coated strawberries on the prepared parchment paper and allow the coating to set at room temperature or refrigerate for 10–15 minutes until firm.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent the coating from seizing.
  • If candy melts become too thick, reheat in 10-second intervals and stir until smooth.
  • For a more realistic carrot look, lightly score lines into the coating with a toothpick before it sets.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.
