Description

Chicken Alfredo Air Fryer Calzones are a delicious and easy-to-make comfort food. These golden, crispy pockets are filled with creamy Alfredo sauce, juicy rotisserie chicken, and gooey mozzarella cheese. They are a healthier version of traditional calzones, thanks to the air fryer, making them perfect for a quick dinner, snack, or appetizer.

  • 1 lb premade pizza dough
  • 2 cups rotisserie chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened (for topping)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, minced (for topping)
  • 5 tablespoons butter (for Alfredo sauce)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper, or to taste
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese


Instructions

  1. Separate the pizza dough into 4-ounce balls. Using floured hands, stretch the dough into 6-inch circles.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt 5 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant. Stir in heavy cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Allow it to simmer until thickened, about 3 minutes. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Set aside to cool.
  3. Spread a tablespoon of Alfredo sauce onto each dough circle, leaving the edges free from sauce.
  4. Top the Alfredo sauce with a few tablespoons of shredded rotisserie chicken and a generous pinch of mozzarella cheese.
  5. Fold the dough in half to form a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges tightly to seal the calzone. For extra security, fold the edges back to create a rustic, sealed edge.
  6. Brush the calzones with melted butter and place them in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8 minutes, flipping halfway through. Reapply butter as needed to ensure a golden, crispy finish.

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Depending on your air fryer size, you may need to cook the calzones in batches.
  • Use fresh mozzarella for the best melt and texture.
  • Let the calzones cool for a few minutes before eating to avoid burning your mouth on the molten Alfredo sauce inside.
