Description
Chicken Bacon Ranch Crescent Rolls are flaky, golden crescent rolls filled with tender shredded chicken, crispy bacon, creamy ranch-seasoned filling, cream cheese, and melted cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Ready in about 30 minutes, they make an easy appetizer, game-day snack, quick lunch, or family-friendly dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cooked chicken, finely shredded
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- 1 tablespoon dry ranch seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese
- 2 tablespoons sliced green onions, optional
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- Ranch dressing for serving, as desired
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly coat it with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place the finely shredded cooked chicken in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, dry ranch seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until the chicken is evenly coated and the filling is creamy.
- Fold in the crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar, mozzarella or Monterey Jack, and green onions. Reserve a little bacon or cheese for topping if desired.
- Unroll the refrigerated crescent dough and separate it along the perforations into 8 triangles. Gently stretch each triangle without tearing it.
- Place approximately 2 to 3 tablespoons of chicken bacon ranch filling near the wide end of each dough triangle. Avoid overfilling.
- Fold the wide corners slightly inward over the filling, then roll each triangle toward the narrow point. Place the rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Combine the melted butter and dried parsley. Brush the mixture lightly over the tops of the crescent rolls and sprinkle with any reserved cheese or bacon if desired.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are puffed and deeply golden. Loosely cover with foil during the final minutes if the tops brown too quickly.
- Allow the Chicken Bacon Ranch Crescent Rolls to rest for about 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm with ranch dressing, barbecue sauce, or honey mustard if desired.
Notes
- Rotisserie chicken is an easy time-saving option, but baked, grilled, poached, or leftover roasted chicken also works well.
- Finely shred the chicken so the filling is easier to roll inside the crescent dough.
- Cook the bacon until crisp and drain excess grease before adding it to the filling.
- Keep the filling thick and avoid adding too much ranch dressing, which can make the crescent rolls soggy.
- Do not overfill the dough. Leaving space around the edges helps keep the filling inside while baking.
- Prepare the filling up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerate it in an airtight container. Assemble the rolls shortly before baking for the best texture.
- Store leftover rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in a 350°F oven for approximately 8 to 10 minutes for the crispiest texture.
- Baked rolls can be frozen for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
