Description

Chicken Parmesan Sliders are a bite-sized twist on the classic Italian dish, featuring crispy chicken tenders, gooey cheese, and marinara sauce, all baked between soft, buttery Hawaiian rolls. These sliders are perfect for quick meals, party appetizers, or game-day snacks.

Ingredients

Scale

Sliders:

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 pound cooked chicken tenders
  • ½ cup marinara sauce
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped

Butter Topping:

  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 350°F and grease a baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Assemble the sliders: Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom halves intact. Place the bottom half in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Layer the ingredients: Place six slices of provolone cheese over the bottom rolls, followed by the cooked chicken tenders. Spoon the marinara sauce evenly over the chicken, then layer on the fresh mozzarella slices and sprinkle with chopped basil.
  4. Cover with the top rolls: Gently place the top half of the rolls over the filling, pressing lightly to hold everything together.
  5. Prepare the butter topping: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, grated Parmesan, and sea salt until well combined.
  6. Brush and bake: Generously brush the butter mixture over the tops of the rolls. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and flavors to meld.
  7. Finish baking: Remove the foil and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the tops of the sliders turn golden brown.
  8. Serve and enjoy: Let the sliders cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • If using frozen chicken tenders, make sure they are fully cooked before assembling the sliders.
  • For an extra crispy texture, toast the bottom halves of the rolls before adding the ingredients.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes.
  • For a spicier version, add crushed red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce or use spicy mozzarella.
