Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium Butternut Squash, peeled and cubed
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 tablespoon Curry Powder
- 1 tablespoon Honey
- 2 Green Onions, chopped
- 1 package Wonton Wrappers
- 1/4 cup Sesame Seeds
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 2 Shallots, finely chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2-inch piece Ginger, peeled and grated
- 4 cups Vegetable Broth
- 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Chili Crisp Sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss the butternut squash with olive oil and curry powder. Roast for 25–30 minutes until tender and caramelized.
- Once the squash has cooled slightly, mash it with a fork. Add honey, green onions, and a pinch of pepper, mixing until smooth.
- Place a wonton wrapper on a flat surface. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of filling onto the center. Moisten edges with water, fold the wrapper over, and seal the edges tightly.
- Brush the bottom of each dumpling with water and dip into sesame seeds. Repeat until all dumplings are assembled.
- For the broth, melt butter in a skillet. Sauté shallots until caramelized, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and ginger, then pour in the vegetable broth and soy sauce. Simmer for 10–15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the dumplings and pan-fry until golden, about 2–3 minutes. Add water, cover, and steam for 4–5 minutes.
- Arrange the dumplings in shallow bowls. Ladle hot broth over the dumplings, drizzle with chili crisp sauce, and garnish with green onions.
Notes
- Make sure to seal the dumplings tightly to avoid leaks during cooking.
- If you want extra heat, you can add more chili crisp sauce or chili oil to the broth.
- Leftover dumplings can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated in a pan with a little oil.
- If you prefer a gluten-free option, you can use gluten-free wonton wrappers.
