Description

Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookies are soft, chewy bakery-style cookies filled with creamy peanut butter and loaded with rich chocolate chips. These homemade cookies feature crisp golden edges, gooey centers, and the perfect balance of sweet chocolate and nutty peanut butter flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the cookie dough.
  7. Scoop 1 tablespoon of dough and flatten it slightly. Place 1 teaspoon of creamy peanut butter in the center.
  8. Top with another tablespoon of dough and seal the edges to fully enclose the peanut butter filling.
  9. Place the stuffed cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  10. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers remain soft.
  11. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Do not overbake the cookies to keep the centers soft and chewy.
  • Chill the dough for 20 minutes if it becomes too sticky to handle.
  • Use high-quality chocolate chips for richer flavor.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • The cookie dough can be frozen for up to 3 months before baking.
