Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Butter, softened
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 large Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Cream Cheese, softened
- 3 cups Powdered Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract (for frosting)
- Holiday Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Cream the butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes using a hand mixer.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each ball gently with a glass.
- Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Do not overbake.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Frost the cooled cookies and top with holiday sprinkles.
Notes
- Chill the dough if it’s too soft to handle. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes before rolling into balls.
- Be careful not to overbake the cookies, as they should remain soft.
- Store leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
