Description

These Cinnamon Baked Donuts are soft, fluffy, and filled with cozy cinnamon flavor. Baked instead of fried, they offer a healthier twist on a classic favorite. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or an anytime treat — easy to make and even more fun to decorate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 167g All-purpose flour: for structure and texture
  • 2 tsp Baking powder: helps the donuts rise
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon powder: adds warm spice
  • 1 Large egg: binds the ingredients
  • 100g Caster sugar: sweetens the batter
  • 1/4 tsp Salt: enhances flavor
  • 180ml Fresh milk: adds moisture
  • 3 tbsp Vegetable oil: keeps the donuts tender
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract: adds aroma and depth
  • 100g White chocolate: for decoration
  • Some sugar hearts: for decorating
  • Some yellow sugar sprinkles: for Hello Kitty nose or decorative touch
  • Melted dark chocolate: for facial features or drizzle
  • Sliced Almonds: optional decoration for ‘ears’

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and cinnamon powder.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg with caster sugar and salt until combined.
  4. Stir in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract into the egg mixture.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Fill the donut pan cavities about 3/4 full with the batter.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow donuts to cool slightly before removing from the pan.
  9. Melt the white chocolate and let it cool slightly.
  10. Optional: Insert 2 sliced almonds into the donut for ‘ears’.
  11. Dip the top of each donut in melted white chocolate and allow excess to drip off.
  12. Decorate with sugar hearts, yellow sprinkles, and dark chocolate as desired.
  13. Chill donuts in the fridge briefly to set the decorations.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter to keep donuts fluffy.
  • Use a piping bag or ziplock to fill the pan neatly.
  • Let donuts cool before decorating to prevent melting the chocolate too quickly.
  • Can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
