Ingredients
Scale
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 12 oz fresh cranberries
- 1 small shallot, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tart apples, diced
- 1/2 cup golden raisins
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, add water and granulated sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Once boiling, add the cranberries, shallot, brown sugar, cinnamon, and apple cider vinegar. Continue cooking over medium heat until the cranberries start popping, about 5 minutes.
- Add the diced apples and golden raisins to the saucepan. Lower the heat to simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the chutney has thickened to your desired consistency.
- Allow the chutney to cool before serving. It can be served warm or chilled, depending on your preference.
Notes
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
- You can freeze the chutney for up to 2 months. To thaw, place it in the refrigerator overnight and then reheat gently.
- Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more raisins or sugar, depending on your taste preferences.
