Description

Creamy Cajun Steak Alfredo is a rich and comforting pasta dish made with tender steak strips, fettuccine noodles, bold Cajun seasoning, and a creamy homemade Alfredo sauce. This flavorful dinner combines smoky spice with cheesy Parmesan goodness for an easy restaurant-style meal perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak, sliced into strips
  • 12 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning, divided
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup pasta water.
  2. Season the steak strips with salt, black pepper, and half of the Cajun seasoning.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak strips and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove the steak and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the diced onion and minced garlic for 2 to 3 minutes until fragrant and translucent.
  5. Pour the heavy cream into the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and remaining Cajun seasoning until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  6. Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet and toss until evenly coated in the Alfredo sauce. If needed, add reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
  7. Return the cooked steak strips to the skillet and gently combine with the pasta.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the smoothest Alfredo sauce texture.
  • Do not overcrowd the skillet while cooking the steak to ensure proper browning.
  • Adjust the Cajun seasoning according to your preferred spice level.
  • Reserve pasta water to help thin the sauce if it becomes too thick.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
