This flavorful dinner combines smoky spice with cheesy Parmesan goodness for an easy restaurant-style meal perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak, sliced into strips
- 12 oz fettuccine pasta
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning, divided
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup pasta water.
- Season the steak strips with salt, black pepper, and half of the Cajun seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak strips and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove the steak and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the diced onion and minced garlic for 2 to 3 minutes until fragrant and translucent.
- Pour the heavy cream into the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and remaining Cajun seasoning until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
- Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet and toss until evenly coated in the Alfredo sauce. If needed, add reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
- Return the cooked steak strips to the skillet and gently combine with the pasta.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the smoothest Alfredo sauce texture.
- Do not overcrowd the skillet while cooking the steak to ensure proper browning.
- Adjust the Cajun seasoning according to your preferred spice level.
- Reserve pasta water to help thin the sauce if it becomes too thick.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
