Description
Crockpot Chicken and Gravy is a rich and comforting meal that combines tender chicken breasts with a savory gravy made from chicken gravy mix, ranch dressing mix, and cream of chicken soup. This slow-cooked dish is perfect for busy weeknights and pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 packet (1 oz) dry chicken gravy mix
- 1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch dressing mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the chicken gravy mix, ranch dressing mix, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth and well combined.
- Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully covered. Cover the crockpot with a lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
- Once the chicken is cooked, use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the crockpot, mixing it with the gravy.
- Taste the gravy and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley, if desired. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
Notes
- If you prefer dark meat, chicken thighs can be substituted for the breasts.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a thicker gravy, add more cream of chicken soup or use less chicken broth.
