Description

Crockpot Chicken and Gravy is a rich and comforting meal that combines tender chicken breasts with a savory gravy made from chicken gravy mix, ranch dressing mix, and cream of chicken soup. This slow-cooked dish is perfect for busy weeknights and pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet (1 oz) dry chicken gravy mix
  • 1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch dressing mix
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the chicken gravy mix, ranch dressing mix, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth and well combined.
  3. Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully covered. Cover the crockpot with a lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  4. Once the chicken is cooked, use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the crockpot, mixing it with the gravy.
  5. Taste the gravy and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley, if desired. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

Notes

  • If you prefer dark meat, chicken thighs can be substituted for the breasts.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a thicker gravy, add more cream of chicken soup or use less chicken broth.
