- 3 packages (16 oz each) frozen cheddar pierogies
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 8 oz cream cheese (1 block)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 lb kielbasa sausage, sliced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Lightly grease a 4โ6 quart crockpot to prevent sticking.
- Add 3 cups of chicken broth to the crockpot.
- Place frozen pierogies evenly into the crockpot.
- Add sliced kielbasa over the pierogies.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Cover and cook on high for 3โ4 hours or on low for 6 hours.
- About 30 minutes before done, heat cream cheese with remaining 1 cup broth until smooth.
- Whisk until creamy, then pour into the crockpot and gently stir.
- Top with remaining 1 cup cheddar cheese.
- Cover and cook on low for 30 more minutes until cheese is melted.
- Season with salt and pepper, then serve hot.
Notes
- Do not overcook, as pierogies may become too soft.
- Brown kielbasa beforehand for extra flavor.
- Add a splash of broth if the sauce becomes too thick.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently with a bit of milk or broth to keep it creamy.
