Description

This Dill Pickle Cheese Ball is a savory, tangy appetizer that combines the creamy richness of cream cheese, sharp cheddar, and the zesty crunch of dill pickles. Perfect for parties, game days, or any gathering, this easy-to-make cheese ball is a crowd favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 tablespoons sour cream
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1½ cups chopped dill pickles
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped dill
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped dill (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to combine cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix for 1-2 minutes until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese, chopped dill pickles, and fresh dill.
  3. Place two long strips of plastic wrap in an X shape on a flat surface. Spoon the cheese mixture into the center.
  4. Bring up the edges of the plastic wrap and seal the mixture into a ball. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  5. Spread shredded cheddar, fresh dill, and lemon zest on a flat surface. Unwrap the chilled cheese ball and roll it onto the coating mixture, pressing gently to coat evenly.
  6. Transfer to a platter and serve with crackers, chips, or vegetables.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to make mixing easier.
  • You can make this cheese ball ahead of time and refrigerate it for up to 2 days.
  • For extra flavor, add a bit more dill pickle juice to the mixture.
  • Keep refrigerated until ready to serve to maintain the cheese ball’s shape.
