Description
This Garlic Butter Chicken is an easy, one-pan dish featuring golden, seared chicken breasts in a rich garlic butter sauce. Ready in just 15 minutes, it’s perfect for busy weeknights and pairs well with rice, pasta, or vegetables.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 ½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 4 average-sized breasts)
- 1 to 2 teaspoons 21 Salute Seasoning or poultry seasoning
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (or to taste)
- ½ cup white wine or chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon garlic, finely minced
- 2 teaspoons fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts between sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper and gently pound them to an even thickness using a rolling pin or meat mallet. This ensures even cooking and a tender texture.
- Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the chicken in the pan and season with 21 Salute Seasoning, salt, and pepper. Allow it to cook undisturbed for about 5 minutes, or until the bottom develops a golden brown crust. Flip the chicken and cook for another 5 minutes on the other side.
- Remove the Chicken: Once the chicken is fully cooked and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C), transfer it to a plate and set it aside to rest while you prepare the sauce.
- Deglaze the Pan: Pour white wine or chicken broth into the hot skillet, using a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits stuck to the bottom. This step enhances the flavor of the sauce and prevents burning.
- Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: Lower the heat and add the butter to the pan, stirring until melted. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. Be careful not to let the garlic burn, as it can turn bitter.
- Coat the Chicken in Sauce: Return the chicken to the skillet, flipping it a few times to coat it thoroughly in the garlic butter sauce. Spoon the sauce over the top to infuse even more flavor.
- Serve and Garnish: Remove the skillet from heat and garnish the chicken with freshly chopped parsley, if desired. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Notes
- Pounding the chicken breasts helps them cook evenly and prevents dryness.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving to retain its juices.
- For a richer sauce, increase the butter to 4 tablespoons and let it simmer for an extra minute before adding the chicken back to the pan.
- This recipe pairs well with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a light salad.
