Description
This easy olive cheese bread is a savory, beginner-friendly appetizer made with gooey cheese, briny olives, and crusty French bread. Ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup chopped green olives
- 1/2 cup chopped black olives
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and place cut-side up on the baking sheet.
- In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, green olives, black olives, mozzarella, and Parmesan until combined.
- Spread the cheese mixture evenly over both halves of the bread, reaching the edges.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly; broil for 1–2 minutes for a golden top.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- If cheese browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil while baking.
- Do not overmix the cheese mixture—chunkiness helps even melting.
- You can prep the topping mix 1–2 days ahead and refrigerate.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven or toaster oven to restore crispiness.
