Description

Fresh Berry Trifle is a light and refreshing layered dessert made with angel food cake, vanilla pudding, freshly whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. Perfect for summer gatherings, picnics, birthdays, and holiday celebrations, this easy trifle combines creamy, fruity, and fluffy textures in every bite.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups vanilla pudding
  • 3 1/2 cups freshly whipped cream
  • 3 cups angel food cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1/2 cup fresh blackberries (optional)


Instructions

  1. Wash all berries thoroughly, pat dry, and allow them to air dry completely.
  2. Slice the strawberries and set aside.
  3. Cut the angel food cake into 1-inch cubes.
  4. Prepare 4 cups of vanilla pudding according to package directions and allow it to thicken.
  5. Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form to yield approximately 3 1/2 cups whipped cream.
  6. Spread 1 cup of vanilla pudding into the bottom of a trifle dish.
  7. Add a layer of cake cubes over the pudding.
  8. Arrange a layer of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries over the cake.
  9. Spread a layer of whipped cream over the berries.
  10. Repeat the layers of pudding, cake, berries, and whipped cream until all ingredients are used.
  11. Finish with a generous layer of whipped cream on top and decorate with additional berries.
  12. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
  13. Serve chilled and enjoy.

  • Fresh berries provide the best flavor and texture.
  • If using frozen berries, thaw completely, drain well, and pat dry before using.
  • Angel food cake can be substituted with pound cake, sponge cake, or vanilla cake.
