Description

Greek Turkey Meatballs with Tzatziki Sauce is a healthy, Mediterranean-inspired dish featuring juicy, herb-packed turkey meatballs served with a creamy, refreshing yogurt cucumber sauce. Perfect for meal prep, quick dinners, or light entertaining, this recipe is packed with flavor and protein.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for sauce)
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill (for sauce)
  • 1/4 tsp salt (for sauce)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, garlic, red onion, parsley, dill, oregano, egg, breadcrumbs, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 1 to 1.5 inch meatballs and place them evenly on the baking sheet.
  4. Lightly brush or drizzle the meatballs with olive oil.
  5. Bake for 18–22 minutes until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. While the meatballs cook, grate the cucumber and squeeze out excess liquid.
  7. In a bowl, mix Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, dill, olive oil, and salt until smooth.
  8. Let the meatballs rest for 5 minutes after baking.
  9. Serve warm with tzatziki sauce on the side or drizzled on top.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the meat mixture to keep meatballs tender.
  • Drain cucumber well to avoid watery tzatziki sauce.
  • Chill tzatziki for 30 minutes before serving for best flavor.
  • Meatballs can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Cooked meatballs freeze well for up to 3 months.
