Description

Grilled Honey Balsamic Glazed Fruit is an easy summer dessert featuring juicy peaches or nectarines brushed with a sweet honey-balsamic mixture, grilled until caramelized, and finished with a rich balsamic glaze. Perfect for barbecues, cookouts, or a light seasonal dessert served with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 dash salt
  • 6 medium peaches or nectarines, halved and pitted
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar, 1/2 cup honey, and a dash of salt. Cook and stir over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes until blended.
  2. Reserve 1/3 cup of the mixture in a separate bowl for brushing the fruit during grilling.
  3. Bring the remaining mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat. Cook and stir for 4 to 6 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside as the glaze.
  4. Preheat a grill to medium heat and lightly grease the grill grates.
  5. Brush the cut sides of the peaches or nectarines with some of the reserved honey-balsamic mixture.
  6. Place the fruit cut-side down on the grill. Cover and cook for 6 to 8 minutes.
  7. Turn the fruit and continue grilling for another 6 to 8 minutes, brushing occasionally with the remaining reserved mixture, until tender and caramelized.
  8. Transfer the grilled fruit to serving plates and drizzle with the prepared balsamic glaze.
  9. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.

Notes

  • Choose ripe but firm peaches or nectarines for the best texture.
  • Do not overcook the glaze, as it will continue to thicken while cooling.
  • Grease the grill grates well to prevent sticking.
  • The glaze can be prepared up to 3 days in advance and refrigerated.
  • Try substituting plums, pears, apricots, or pineapple for a variation.
  • Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
