Description

Ground Lamb Meatballs are juicy, flavorful, and packed with aromatic herbs and spices. This easy recipe creates tender meatballs with a rich, savory taste, perfect for serving with pasta, rice, or flatbread for a satisfying Mediterranean-inspired meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix gently until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  4. Shape the mixture into 1 to 1.5-inch meatballs.
  5. Place meatballs on a greased baking tray or into the skillet.
  6. Bake for 18–22 minutes, turning halfway, or pan-fry for 8–10 minutes until browned on all sides.
  7. Check that meatballs are fully cooked through with no pink inside.
  8. Remove from heat, let rest for a few minutes, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Avoid overmixing to keep meatballs tender.
  • Use fresh herbs for the best flavor.
  • Add 1–2 tbsp milk or yogurt for extra moisture.
  • Meatballs can be baked or pan-fried depending on preference.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
