Description
This easy Ham and Cheese Biscuit Ring is a warm, cheesy pull-apart appetizer made with fluffy refrigerated biscuit dough, savory ham, mozzarella, feta, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, and Mediterranean herbs. Perfect for brunch, parties, holidays, game day, or a casual family meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 16 oz refrigerated biscuit dough
- 6 oz cooked ham, chopped
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, drained and chopped
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line or lightly grease a round baking pan.
- Separate the refrigerated biscuits and cut each biscuit into halves or quarters, depending on its size.
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped ham, mozzarella, feta, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, oregano, parsley, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt.
- Add the biscuit pieces to the bowl and gently toss until the dough is evenly coated with the ham, cheese, vegetables, and seasonings.
- Arrange the coated biscuit pieces in a ring shape in the prepared pan, leaving a little room for the dough to expand while baking.
- Lightly brush the exposed biscuit dough with olive oil.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the biscuits are cooked through, the exterior is golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Check a biscuit near the thickest part of the ring to make sure the center is fluffy and fully baked. Bake for a few additional minutes if necessary.
- Remove from the oven and allow the Ham and Cheese Biscuit Ring to rest for about 5 minutes before serving warm.
Notes
- Drain sun-dried tomatoes thoroughly to prevent excess moisture from making the biscuits soggy.
- Do not pack the biscuit pieces too tightly because they need room to expand and bake evenly.
- Turkey ham, cooked turkey, or cooked chicken can be substituted for the ham.
- Provolone, Monterey Jack, or mild cheddar can replace the mozzarella.
- Goat cheese or ricotta can be used instead of feta.
- Roasted red peppers, olives, artichoke hearts, or cooked mushrooms can be added for extra Mediterranean flavor.
- Use salt conservatively because ham and feta are naturally salty.
- Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Individual biscuit pieces can be wrapped tightly and frozen for up to 2 months.
- Serve warm with tzatziki, marinara, hummus, or garlic yogurt dip.
