Description

Holiday Puppy Chow is a no-bake festive treat made with Chex cereal, chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar. It’s the perfect dessert for Christmas parties, holiday gift-giving, or as a sweet snack for the family. With its creamy coating and a touch of festive sprinkles, this treat brings joy to any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups Chex cereal (Corn or Rice Chex preferred)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup festive sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Measure cereal and place it in a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and peanut butter over medium heat, stirring constantly. Once fully melted, stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal in three stages, folding gently after each pour to coat the cereal evenly.
  4. In a large zip-top bag, combine powdered sugar and festive sprinkles. Add the coated cereal in stages, shaking gently to cover each piece thoroughly.
  5. Spread the coated cereal in a single layer on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and chill in the fridge for at least one hour to set.
  6. Once set, the Holiday Puppy Chow is ready to serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.

Notes

  • For a different flavor, you can use white chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet chocolate.
  • If you’re allergic to peanuts, try using almond butter or sunflower seed butter as a substitute.
  • Feel free to add extra mix-ins like mini M&Ms, pretzels, or peanut butter cups for added flavor and texture.
  • Store Holiday Puppy Chow in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
