Description

Jalapeno poppers are the perfect combination of spicy heat and creamy, cheesy filling, making them an irresistible appetizer. These stuffed jalapenos, filled with a mixture of cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and crispy bacon, are baked to bubbly perfection. Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled
  • 12 large jalapenos


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and 2/3 of the crumbled bacon until blended.
  2. Cut each jalapeno lengthwise and remove the seeds and veins.
  3. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into each hollowed-out jalapeno half.
  4. Arrange the stuffed jalapenos in a single layer on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  5. Bake in a 450°F (230°C) oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is lightly browned and bubbly.
  6. Top with the remaining crumbled bacon and serve immediately.

Notes

  • If you want a milder flavor, be sure to remove all the seeds and veins from the jalapenos.
  • For a spicier kick, leave some of the seeds in the jalapenos or use hotter peppers like serrano.
  • To prepare in advance, stuff the jalapenos and freeze them before baking. When ready to cook, bake from frozen, adding extra time as needed.
