Description

This Lemon Blackberry Mocktail is a refreshing, tangy, and bubbly non-alcoholic drink made with fresh blackberries, lemonade, lemon juice, sparkling seltzer, and mint. Perfect for summer gatherings, brunches, parties, or any occasion when you want a vibrant and flavorful alcohol-free beverage.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup prepared lemonade
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (juice of 1 lemon)
  • 4 lemon slices, for garnish
  • 2 cups seltzer or club soda
  • 8 fresh mint leaves, for garnish
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 8 additional fresh blackberries, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add the fresh blackberries to a small saucepan and mash them thoroughly using a fork or potato masher.
  2. Add the sugar, water, and lemonade to the saucepan and stir to combine.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  4. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the blackberry flavor infuses the liquid.
  5. Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or pitcher.
  6. Discard the solids and stir in the fresh lemon juice.
  7. Refrigerate the blackberry-lemon mixture until completely chilled, about 1 hour.
  8. Fill 4 serving glasses with ice cubes.
  9. Divide the chilled blackberry mixture evenly among the glasses.
  10. Top each glass with seltzer or club soda and stir gently.
  11. Garnish with lemon slices, fresh mint leaves, and additional blackberries before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh blackberries for the brightest flavor and color.
  • The blackberry syrup base can be prepared up to 3 days in advance.
  • Add the seltzer only before serving to maintain carbonation.
  • Adjust the sweetness by increasing or decreasing the sugar to taste.
  • Frozen blackberries may be substituted after thawing.
  • For a sugar-free version, use a sugar substitute suitable for beverages.
  • Fresh basil or rosemary can replace mint for a unique flavor variation.
