Description
Lemon Garlic Chicken with Creamy Bowtie Pasta is a quick and comforting meal featuring tender seared chicken breasts in a zesty lemon garlic cream sauce tossed with farfalle pasta and finished with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. Perfect for weeknight dinners or casual entertaining.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest (from 1 lemon)
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 8 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts on both sides with salt, pepper, and dried Italian seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear for 5–6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside to rest.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add heavy cream, chicken broth, lemon juice, and lemon zest to the skillet. Stir and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 3–4 minutes to slightly thicken.
- Meanwhile, cook the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Slice the cooked chicken into thin strips.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Stir in Parmesan cheese until the sauce is creamy and smooth.
- Plate the pasta and top with sliced chicken. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh lemon zest for a more vibrant citrus flavor.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water or chicken broth.
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
- To make it spicy, add red pepper flakes while sautéing garlic.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
