Description

Lemon Garlic Chicken with Creamy Bowtie Pasta is a quick and comforting meal featuring tender seared chicken breasts in a zesty lemon garlic cream sauce tossed with farfalle pasta and finished with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. Perfect for weeknight dinners or casual entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (from 1 lemon)
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 8 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts on both sides with salt, pepper, and dried Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear for 5–6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside to rest.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add heavy cream, chicken broth, lemon juice, and lemon zest to the skillet. Stir and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 3–4 minutes to slightly thicken.
  5. Meanwhile, cook the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  6. Slice the cooked chicken into thin strips.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Stir in Parmesan cheese until the sauce is creamy and smooth.
  8. Plate the pasta and top with sliced chicken. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh lemon zest for a more vibrant citrus flavor.
  • If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water or chicken broth.
  • For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
  • To make it spicy, add red pepper flakes while sautéing garlic.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
